Okay, so full disclosure: I love Smallville. I am actually a huge fan of origin stories. Seriously, I never get tired of seeing the Waynes gunned down in front of Bruce, love watching Krypton blow up, and enjoy Uncle Ben's repeated deaths... hmm... Maybe there's something wrong with me. Back on point, I like seeing the path a hero takes before they become a "hero". I love watching how people become what they're destined to be and what obstacles and opportunities had shaped them. I'm a big sucker for that kind of stuff. I should also say that I enjoyed the hell out of the first three seasons of Smallville and elements of the fourth and fifth seasons before I checked out hard. While like my Reimagining of Arrow, this isn't so much how to do it better, it would just be how I would do it to fit within Earth-27 continuity. So... Here we go!

Season 1: Pilot Episode
I can't imagine the opening of my version to be any different than the one used in the show so we have Jonathan and Martha Kent, a couple in their late thirties. Jonathan comes out of a storefront, having picked up some supplies for the farm, waves at a few residents who call him by name, and crosses the street to where his truck is parked. The camera pans to show Martha sitting in the passenger seat with the window rolled down, staring at some kids playing on a school playground. She is smiling as she watches this, but there is a sadness in her eyes. Jonathan gets in the truck and notices this and comforts her with a gentle touch and kind words and the assurance "We're good people, Martha. We've prayed and we've sacrificed. I don't care what the doctor said. If we're meant to have children, God will find a way to give us a child." They then begin the drive home. As they drive away, some late 70s country music comes over the radio and the camera lifts up to see them drive through 70s era Smallville and reveal lettering that tells us this is Smallville, Kansas and the year is 1978.

Meanwhile, we cut over to a large farm where a helicopter is touching down in a pasture. A well-dressed man and his redheaded son come strolling out to walk toward some waiting farmers who are ceasing their chores to come talk to this man. As they leave the helicopter, we see a LuthorCorp logo and the man tells his son Lex to be quiet and pay attention, hoping Lex will learn how to be a businessman, but as they get closer to the gathered farmers Lionel Luthor berates his son further and says that if Lex can't keep quiet, then he should go find something else to occupy his attention as this meeting is important and Lionel has no time to hold Lex's hand. Almost immediately, Lex rolls his eyes and strays away from his father, his head hung low.

We cut back to the Kents as Martha comments about something in the sky and Jonathan leans over the steering wheel to see meteoric fireballs coming across the sky. Martha then shouts his name and just then Jonathan tries to react but a spacecraft hits a nearby field and scraps across the road ahead of them, before plowing into the field on the other side. Despite Jonathan's braking, the truck's front end goes into this ditch in the middle of the road.

We cut back to Lex who is wandering around the farm's outbuildings and then he looks up to see the sky on fire with a ton of meteors, his jaw dropped. Then the camera turns to show Lex's attention is so fascinated on the fireballs in the sky he hasn't noticed the one coming at him. We cut back to Lionel as one hits a distant field and then we see his first fatherly reaction as he yells out for his son and quickly looks around. Then we see a meteor strike a cornfield and a huge cloud of dust bloom out, destroying two outbuildings. Lionel screams and runs into the debris, looking for his son, the farmers right behind him.

Back at the Kents, we see Jonathan checking on Martha. She has a gash on her head but she's alright. The two then climb out of the truck to assess the damage. While Jonathan is obsessed with his truck, Martha wanders off to see what that thing was. The camera lingers on Jonathan as he grabs some tools from the bed of his truck to figure out how to get his truck out of this predicament and we hear Martha continually yelling for Jonathan to come see this. Jonathan continually replies with assurances he'll be there when the truck is out and then Martha screams, prompting Jonathan to run down into the cornfield looking for his wife, what he finds stops him in his tracks and we see a look of shock on Jonathan's face as we hear a toddler's laughter. Slowly the cameras spins around to show Martha sitting on the Kryptonian ship with a young boy about two years old loosely wrapped in a red sheet and dressed in alien clothing marked with what looks to be a stylized 'S'. As Jonathan slowly walks forward with Martha prompting him, the camera lifts up to watch the rest of the meteor show rain down upon Smallville and then higher into the sky.

The camera reaches a point in the sky where we see no more fireballs, just the lettering that reads: '1991' and then the camera drops down and we see a farmhouse as a school bus pulls in front of it. A quick shot of the mailbox tells us this farm belongs to the Kents and we then see a driver check his watch, shake his head, and the bus starts driving off. "Hey wait!" we hear Clark yell as runs down his dirt road driveway waving his arms frantically. In the middle of the road now, he watches the bus turn a corner on a country road and we see two teens sitting in the back of the bus shrug toward Clark. Clark looks defeated, then he looks suddenly hopeful and he looks about to sprint when we hear Martha yell "Clark Joseph Kent!" After giving him a bit of a talk about him missing the bus three times this week, Martha waves him back to the house where she is grabbing her coat and walking out to the car. Clark sighs and we see him zip back the driveway at inhuman speeds, beating his mother to the car. She gives him a lecture about that as well.

On the way to school, Clark and Martha have a talk about her stance on his powers. Martha feels that if people found out about them, they'd take Clark away. Clark has clearly heard all about it as we see him rolling his eyes. Also worth mentioning, Clark is wearing glasses already, we'll get to that later. Clark says he can do so much with his powers and he quickly lists off how he could use his speed for football, use his strength for wrestling, and it's clear that Clark is only interested in using his powers for sports. Martha and him talk about how Clark has no interest in sports and how he doesn't like to watch those on TV with his father, never has, and wonders, why he has such an interest in playing... and then as she pulls in front of the school she notices Clark watching Lana Lang walk up to kiss her athletic boyfriend Whitney Fordman and Martha quickly tells Clark that the best way to get a girl is to be yourself. Clark scoffs, commenting how Martha ended up with Jonathan because Jonathan was a star quarterback and she reiterates her advice with Clark getting out of the car and pointing out that because of his mother he can't be himself. Martha thinks that's not fair, but the school bell rings and Clark walks away. Martha shakes her head and drives off.

Whitney leaves Lana alone and Clark decides to go talk to her but as he gets close he winces and stumbles, dumping his backpack. Lana kneels down to help Clark and he winces some more. We see that she has a Kryptonite necklace but Clark does not understand the connection there as after Lana walks off, Chloe Sullivan and Pete Ross walk up to tease Clark about his awkwardness around Lana. Clark agrees that he has no finesse when it comes to the ladies. Chloe offers her services for Clark to practice on and Clark scoffs saying that would be too weird as he sees her as more of a sister. Chloe scoffs back and tells Clark he is right, he's clueless about women and she storms off, leaving nerds Clark and Pete clueless as to what her deal is.

At this point, we cut back to the Kents discussing the problem with their son and having another talk about telling him he's an alien. Martha is against it and Jonathan just wants to know if not now then when? Martha doesn't have an answer.

We then catch up to Lex, landing in a helicopter via a helicopter pad built where the pasture used to be. We see a mansion in the spot of the old farm and see a young adult Lex with a completely bald head climbing out of the helicopter to walk toward the mansion. Lex pauses to take in the sights and makes a brief stroll over to a patch of grass that's an unsightly brown. Lex asks a gardener about the discoloration and the man says there's nothing that can be done. The patch has too much meteor rock in the soil. Lex has flashes of being near the collision that caused that deposit and we see a quick glimpse of his father cradling him at the edge of a crater, bloodied and covered in dirt and soot, his red hair falling out of his head. Snapping out of it, Lex asks the gardener again if there's nothing that can be done and Lex sighs and says that his father will be here soon, just spray the grass green or something. He seems to do this out of fear that the gardener will get in trouble.

We then see Lex walk into the mansion and check out his digs and here we meet Mercy Graves. She's an Asian woman (as in The Batman & Batman V Superman). Mercy introduces herself to Lex, but Lex says he remembers her from the company party last Christmas. Mercy seems shocked and says she was just an intern then and Lex comments that she was an intern with potential and that's why he requested her specifically for this job as he needs someone he can trust and someone who knows the area. After Mercy repeatedly thanks him, she starts to go over the details of Lex's new title as Vice-President of the LuthorCorp Agricultural Chemical Division. Lex makes it clear that this is a bump in the road for him and if Mercy helps him knock this assignment out of the park, he promises to take her with him onto bigger, brighter, and better endeavors. Mercy thanks him but says she quite comfortable in Smallville and that the town has grown on her. Lex smiles and quips about how fungus grows on things as well.

Back at Smallville High we see Clark at the school paper doing some research into some weird stuff. Of course, this is all done by looking through the various newspapers that the school gets and with an old computer that mostly just has access to some research database as this in 1991. While Clark is looking at that stuff, Chloe looks over his shoulder and her comments make it clear that while she doesn't know about Clark's powers, she shares his fascination with the weird and the two start talking about a weird rumor Chloe heard about something weird happening to cattle in Granville and the strange growth rates of corn at her neighbors' farm which is planted in a field hit by a meteor. Clark asks her if he thinks meteor rocks could do something to people and Chloe is skeptical, commenting about Lana's necklace and how so many studies have shown it to be an inert mineral, at least the cache that touched down in Smallville, but then she goes into how she heard that LuthorCorp is mixing it into the fertilizer they make at their plant and this trails off into a long conspiracy theory that gets interrupted when Lana and Whitney have an argument in the hall in front of the school paper's office. After the two walk away, Chloe remarks "Talk about weird... Mr. and Mrs. Fordman on the rocks? Stop the presses." Clark just smiles once Chloe turns her back to him, the wheels in his head already spinning.

At the LuthorCorp plant, Lex finds out that what his father has for him and finds that the plant is nothing revolutionary or exciting for him to cut his teeth on and he has no idea how to impress his father with what he's been given. At his office, he calls his father and finds out that he hasn't been given a reward for being his son, but he's been punished for his less than stellar performance at college, with Lionel remarking that Lex tarnished the Luthor name at Metropolis University. Lex argues that the word tarnished is a bit much when he graduates magna cum laude and was one of the university's youngest graduates ever. Lionel rebuts with reminders of a variety of 'frat boy' type behavior that only brings a smile to Lex's face hearing it recounted. Lionel says that Lex can expect to remain in Smallville until its small-town charm rubs off on Lex and he learns to use his brain for something important and not just for hacking into school databases to change his grades and writing equations to help get himself laid. The phone call ends with Lex upset and storming out to his car.

A school bell rings and we see Clark waiting for the bus with Pete. He spots Lana and relates to Pete how he saw her and Whitney arguing earlier. Clark says this is his chance and despite Pete's warnings, he moves in. Of course, once Clark gets close to Lana, he stumbles and goes weak, clutching his stomach. He tries to play it cool but just looks awkward. In the time it takes him to struggle through and try to power through, Whitney walks up to Lana and the two apologize and kiss right in front of Clark. After Lana gets on her bus, Clark begins to feel better but he catches the eye of Whitney who confronts Clark about how he has seen the way Clark looks at "his girl" and warns Clark to back off. Clark, feeling confident, warns Whitney not to push him, making a fist but then Whitney throws a punch and Clark goes down, with Lana coming around the corner to remind Whitney about their homecoming dance photos. She sees Clark on the ground and Clark excuses it by saying he stumbled. His glasses are broken and we sees Clark's perspective of the world without his glasses, his eyes constantly shifting focus between near and far, clear and blurred, like his eyes are constantly shifting through different spectrums of vision, including a brief glimpse of what would one day become Clark's X-Ray vision. Clark puts his broken glasses back on and Lana walks away, giving Whitney a cold glance as if warning him she suspects he hurt Clark. Lana gets back on the bus and then we see Clark getting his glasses fixed, oblivious to the bus pulling away from him. As he puts his glasses on and sees the bus is gone, he rolls his eyes, shakes his head, and starts walking home.

We cut to quick glimpses of Lex screaming while driving, banging his sports car's steering wheel as he rages out with heavy metal blasting; and then over to Clark walking home with head held low. The scene cuts back and forth between these two, foreshadowing the collision course they're on. Clark stops on a bridge to look down at the water and see his reflection. As he's looking at the water, we cut back to Lex whose CD has jammed and he ejects it, looks at the disc, and seeing his reflection in it with a scratch across his face on the disc's surface. As Lex lowers the CD, he sees Clark and it's too late. Lex swerves to miss Clark but Clark is hit and the car goes over the bridge and into the water below. After a while, we see Clark pop up gasping for breath and while some scratches on his face (yup, Clark isn't completely invulnerable yet). Clark takes a moment to get his bearings and then dives in and swims up to the car where he sees a trapped Lex banging on the window. Clark tries to open the door but it won't budge. Lex and Clark both kick the window, but it also won't budge and then as Lex starts to pass out, Clark closes his eyes and grabs the door, ripping it off its hinges. Lex has a reaction to this but it's just before he passes out. Clark then grabs Lex and pulls him out.

Good time for a commercial break and when we come back, Clark is in the hospital. Jonathan and Martha come into the room and the doctor tells them that Clark is fine. He's got some minor scratches, but he's lucky that the car didn't hit him. Clark looks off to the side as the doctor says that, avoiding making eye contact with his parents. Lex comes in at this point with a neck brace and arm in a sling. Lex comments that he could have sworn he hit Clark though. The doctor introduces him to the Kents. Jonathan and Lex have a brief clash with Jonathan angry that Lex was so reckless but the doctor mentions that Lex has agreed to pay for Clark's medical bills and plenty of other things as well (damage to the bridge, donations to Clark's school, etc) and Lex admits he was in the wrong. Jonathan points out that isn't Luthor behavior and Lex says he's going to try turning over a new leaf thanks to Clark, also saying he'd like to hire Clark as he could use someone from the community to help him errands and to make introductions. The Kents turn this offer down, though Clark is clearly interested and when he says that he could really use some extra money, Lex takes that as the matter being settled and invites Clark to swing by the plant tomorrow after school.

Back at the Kent farm, talks to his parents about how he didn't get cut pulling Lex out but that his injuries were from getting hit by the car and going in the water. This leads to another argument about his powers and Clark storming off when his parents again avoid the subject of his adoption and where he's from. Clark ends up wandering down the road in front of Lana's house where Lana is sitting out on the front porch, looking at the stars. Clark sees her and glances around to see if anyone is watching a teenage Clark lowers his taped up glasses and tries to gaze through her clothes but when Lana turns to look at him before he is successful, Clark quickly clears his throat and waves awkwardly. Lana calls him over and Clark approaches slowly and to his surprise, finds he feels fine. Clark and Lana have a talk about parents, how hers were killed in the meteor shower (explaining her interest in the stars and her necklace) and the two bond over being 'orphans' in some way. During the conversation, Lana remarks how Clark isn't acting all shy and awkward around her and Clark chuckles and then notices her lack of necklace and asks about it. She says it's on her dresser as she was getting ready for bed and always comes out to look at the stars before she goes to sleep. The two remark about how they should have these talks more often. Lana asks if Clark is going to the homecoming dance and Clark shakes his head. Lana is surprised he hasn't asked Chloe and Clark just dismisses that notion. As Lana's aunt calls her inside, Lana says that if she sees Clark at the dance, she'll save him a dance. Clark walks away smiling.

I'm not mentioning anything about the electrically powered bullied kid because that was one of the show's weakest meteor freaks and I don't think it's essential to have Clark face off someone superpowered in his first showdown. Just keep that in mind.

Now, we get the next day at school where Clark is talking about his talk with Lana to a stunned Pete and Chloe. Neither of them believes him. Lana stops by to say hello and causes Clark to trip over some chairs and when she leaves, Pete and Chloe banter back and forth with a re-enactment of how they think Clark and Lana's conversation went down. Clark scoffs and then the two go into their wondering if Clark had tripped in Lana's rosebushes, explaining his cuts and then Clark realizes he didn't even tell them about meeting Lex Luthor. The two laugh at him and comment that for a prospective reporter he's playing really fast and loose with his credibility. Then Lex walks in with the Principal, stunning Pete and Chloe. Lex tells Clark that he was talking to the Principal about his donation plans and decided that the first thing to be renovated will be the school paper. Lex then tells Clark he'll be by to pick him up when school is over. As Lex leaves, Clark just smiles at his friends.

We then see a scene at the end of school where Lana and Whitney are again arguing. Whitney asks her if it's about Clark, who he notices spying them from a distance and Lana rolls her eyes at Whitney. She says maybe they should go to homecoming with other people and take a break, but Whitney again suspects it's about Clark and gets upset. He goes over and punches Clark out of nowhere, knocking Clark over but breaking his hand. Clark gets back up and Fordman punches at Clark again, but this time Clark sees the punch coming in slo-mo and evades it, tripping Whitney in the process and causing the students gathered around the bus stop laugh at Whitney. Then Lex honks his horn and Clark grabs his backpack, apologizing to Whitney. Whitney tells Clark "This isn't over, Kent!" and storms off. Lex takes note of the glance Lana and Clark share and opens the door for Clark, just before they drive away we see a bunch of girls giggling about how 'Was that really Clark Kent?'.

On the drive over to the plant, Clark and Lex talk. Clark compliments what he assumes is Lex's rental but Lex says it's his Thursday car. Clark asks Lex how many cars he has and Lex just smiles. Clark talks about how nice it must be to be rich and Lex agrees before he tries his best to guess at what some of the values of being a farm boy could be. After making it abundantly clear he's glad he's not a farmer, Lex asks Clark about the 'hottie'. Clark realizes he means Lana and Clark relate that whole story. Lex smiles and thanks Clark as he's now got himself a mission. He's going to repay Clark for saving his life by helping him get the girl. Clark says that is not needed but Lex tells him that no one says no to a Luthor.

At the plant, Lex asks why no one is working and Mercy says there was a bomb threat called in. Lex thinks it's just an angry farmer that had to sell their land to make way for this plant and just acting out now due to the presence of a Luthor. Clark talks about how his friend Pete's family used to own this land and he doubts it was them. Lex tries to assure everyone it's nothing and then a small explosion erupts... and commercial break.

Jonathan Kent pulls up, several hours later as it's now dusk. He ducks under a police line to come collect Clark and again confront Lex about "two days you've known my son, two days where he could have been killed". Clark insists he's fine. On the way home, Clark and Jonathan have a talk that talks about Jonathan's mistrust of Lex. Clark makes some good points that Lex can never be more than just his father's son if Jonathan keeps treating him the way he does, so Jonathan agrees to give Lex a chance.

The next day it's the day of the school homecoming game. During gym class, Clark and Pete are talking about the explosion and how Pete's family were questioned last night, Chloe butts in as the whole thing has her freaked out because her dad works at the plant. There's a school announcement from the principal, warning against hazing rituals and when Chloe asks about that (as she had moved in middle of the term last year and wasn't around for homecoming) Clark and Pete tell her about this kooky tradition where the jocks grab some poor soul and spray paint an S for Smallville across his chest and tie him up in a cornfield until the dance is over. Chloe calls it barbaric and Clark and Pete agree as they've agreed to watch each other's backs to make sure it's not them. Chloe agrees to help out by giving the two an invitation to be her dates for the school dance. Clark and Pete are a bit shocked by the double offer, but when she asks what better they have to do, they are speechless. Chloe reminds Clark that he needs to go if he wants that dance with Lana, so Clark and Pete both agree to be Chloe's "dates".

A quick scene of Whitney sneaking into the girls' locker room and grabbing Lana's necklace from her locker and then planting it in Clark's backpack.

We have a scene of Lex going through the wreckage at his plant, an introduction to Chloe's dad, who is the superintendent there. Lex has to leave to take a call from his dad and Lionel blames this incident on Lex's lack of proper leadership.

After school, as Clark and Pete are walking out to catch the bus, Clark complaining about how heavy his backpack is and how he doesn't feel good. They get stopped by Whitney and members of the football team who overpower them and grab them both, with Clark pretty powerless to stop them on account of the necklace in his backpack. The boys are thrown into a van and driven out to the cornfields out by Lex's plant. Clark and Pete are both stripped and have an S spray-painted to their chest and are strapped up like scarecrows to a pole, with their clothes and belongings left at their feet.

Lex is working late, reviewing security footage, looking for the bomber and he hears the kids laughing and driving off. Lex fears that it's the bomber so he goes out to investigate. He finds Pete and Clark beaten and bloody and helps them down. Lex wants to know what this is about and Pete tries to explain, but Clark stops him, assuring Lex that it's all fine. Lex scoffs. Clark tries to tell him it's fine, but when he picks up his backpack he drops to his feet and coughs up blood. Lex says they need to get him to the hospital and as he and Pete are helping Clark to his car, they see a van pull up. They duck back into the cornfield and see some man grab a bag and walk into the plant. Lex tries to decide which to do, save his plant or help Clark. He tells Pete to get Clark in the car and he'll be right back.

Cut to both Lana and Chloe talking at the front of the school, wondering where their dates are. Chloe asks where Lana's necklace is and Lana says someone stole it. The two talk about what is wrong with Smallville lately and what kind of monster would do that. Chloe also asks Lana who her date is with her and Whitney breaking up, and she says that she was kind of hoping Clark would show up by himself as she promised him a dance. When Lana asks Chloe who her date is, Chloe just smiles and chuckles. After a while, she says "Pete. Just Pete. I'm sure..."

Clark is in considerable pain but he wonders where Lex is. He tells Pete that they need to find go Lex and against Pete's better judgment, he agrees. They get Clark out of the car, leaving his backpack in the car, as they go to look for Lex. They find Lex knocked out near a back door. Clark tells Pete to stay with him and Clark, suddenly feeling better, runs in to find the culprit. Clark confronts the man who turns out to be a young man who says he was Lex's lab partner until his and Lex's antics caused a fire and injured three students. This guy was expelled while Lex's daddy was able to sweep Lex's involvement under the rug through a sizable donation. Clark tries to reason with the guy that this isn't the way to seek recourse but the guy responds by grabbing throwing a pipebomb into some machinery and running off. Without thinking, Clark shoves his hand into the machinery and screams in pain as his sleeve is all cut up and his arm has some light scratches when he pulls the pipebomb out. Clark looks at the timer and is about to run off when he sees Pete staring in disbelief in the doorway. Clark says he'll explain everything and then runs off at superspeed. Halfway through a cornfield behind the plant, Clark tosses the bomb and it explodes high into the sky.

We cut to Lana and Chloe seeing the explosion and then getting distracted as Whitney shows up and apologizes to Lana. Lana smiles and accepts the apology and the two go into the dance. We cut to Clark driving Lex's car and telling Pete to go ahead and show Chloe a good time. When Pete refuses to get out, Clark promises he'll tell Pete everything after the dance. Pete says he should come in too but Clark points at his mangled sleeve and then gestures to the groggy Lex in the backseat. Pete tells Clark to drive safe and to avoid main roads since he only has a learner's permit. Pete then goes and brings Chloe in, who is happy to finally have a date, but looks over her shoulder one last time, looking for Clark.

We see Clark pull Lex's car up to the hospital, honk twice, and then bolt away at superspeed. The doctors and nurses come out and find Lex unconscious in the backseat.

Clark runs back home changes his clothes and runs back to the dance. He gets there in time for the DJ to announce that it's the dance's final song and Clark goes looking for Lana. When he sees her dancing with Whitney who has been crowned homecoming king, Clark leaves the dance. As he's walking by Whitney's truck however he pauses and smiles.

At the end of the dance, we see teens laughing and then see Whitney come pushing through the crowd. We see him give a horrified look and then cut to his truck which is propped up against a telephone pole with a giant S-shape torn out of its cabin's roof. Teens chuckle that Whitney is this year's scarecrow with Whitney then saying it's Clark and Pete, but then Clark and Pete both show up behind Whitney on Chloe's arms, proving Whitney wrong. Whitney gets in Clark's face, warning him but he quickly backs down when he sees Lana show up.

Where We Go From Here
The very next episode would have Whitney accusing Clark of stealing from Lana and Lana goes to confront Clark about it. Clark denies it and when she asks to look in his backpack and Clark realizes he left his backpack in Lex's car. Later when Clark goes to get it, he finds out that Lex had already found the necklace and came to the same suspicion Clark has that Whitney planted it but he gives Clark the solution to use this as an opportunity against Whitney and pulls out an ornate case containing the necklace and then opens it to show he had the chain replaced with gold, causing Clark to go weak. Lex notices this but assumes it's just a spell from Clark's beating the other night. Lex closes the case and Clark is fine once more. Clark says that it's too much and Lex insists it is the least he could do for Clark saving his life again. Clark brings this necklace back to Lana but rather than take credit, he leaves it on the doorstep.

We build into meteor freaks slowly, diving more into Lex's checkered past coming to haunt him in the first season as well as Clark wanting to experiment with his powers in more mundane ways. We introduce characters in episodes among the students, teachers, and townsfolk who will eventually become meteor freaks in later episodes but we don't introduce them in the same episode we give them powers and be done with them. We need to sell that Smallville itself is a character in this series and that requires that the town feels real and living. The bomber shows up again and this time he's given a name: Tad Sivana and though Clark accuses him of being the bomber, there's no proof and he actually ends up getting a sizable payout from Lionel Luthor when he shows up threatening to sell photos he took of Lex in college to the Daily Planet. Sivana uses this money to fund a start-up company and he shows up infrequently more as a foil to Lex than anything else.

Clark continues to wonder where his powers come from. He tells Pete about his powers and Pete becomes his confidant. As the meteor freaks begin to show up more and more, the two become convinced that Clark is also a meteor freak. Lex becomes interested in the meteor freaks as well and continually shows up to pay for their treatment. This fascination extends to meteor rocks themselves and when part of the plant begins to be rebuilt, Lex decides to build himself a private lab to conduct some experiments of his own.

After Clark saves Whitney's life when Whitney runs afoul of a bullied kid who becomes a meteor freak, Fordman lays off on Clark and actually starts to become a decent guy.

Clark's powers continue to develop with him discovering X-Ray vision in this first season and his invulnerability improving a smidge more every time he is seriously injured. We also see a few instances of his heat vision (triggered by being sexually aroused) but it is uncontrollable and infrequent at this point and doesn't seem to happen when he's wearing his glasses.

Out season finale would play out very similar to how it does in the show with a tornado hitting Smallville and Lana being pulled in. We don't go Man of Steel here as Clark, who is with Pete and Chloe at the time, doesn't just stand there but he runs in at superspeed, thus revealing his powers to Chloe.

Conclusion
Thoughts? I'll cover the remaining seasons in my next attempt at reimagining Smallville's events for Earth-27, of which I'd just have four seasons with Smallville ending with Clark graduating high school. The events of Clark's college experience and the events that lead to him becoming Superman would be tackled in my follow-up "Roy Reimagines... Man of Steel".

Anyway, I await your feedback here. This one is closer to the pilot episode of Smallville than my Arrow one is, but then again I am really hard-pressed to find much I would change about the first three seasons of Smallville.

Have Clark discover his ship on his own in the barn with his x ray vision before his parents could tell him.
